A shot of this years birthday gift for my wife.
For anyone that doesn't know, I try to come up with a new gift each year for my wife's birthday. Here's a list of all her gifts starting with last years and counting back.... Big Fish Light Spiddle One Eyed Candle Holder Steppin Out Spidey Web Skelly Tree I'm going to be coloring it but wanted to get some shots of it in primer gray. I was originally going to sculpt just the preying mantis, but like all my other projects, it took on a life of it's own. The little dude on the mantis's back is inspired by the proportions of my good friend's  tiki dudes.I sense a collaboration in our future... I'm hoping to color it later today and give the background story to the whole piece. It's made of a piece of drift wood, Super Sculpey, tree seeds for the wings, a tiny snail shell for his headdress, fishing line for the mantis's antennae, and a toothpick for the spear. I designed it so that the mantis's lowered front claw holds an incense stick. Hope you like it...
